School Field Trip to Mount Yumnuska, Kananaskis
One day I went on a field trip with my dad to Kananaskis Country. It took has a long time to get there. On the way there I saw a lot of wild life, some even said they saw a bear. Some of the wild life I saw was Deer, a Beaver Dam , and maybe a Bear.
When we got there I needed to go to the Dunny (outhouse).
We got introduced to are guide. It was really windy when we started to hike. I spotted a lot of things, I even found a birds nest. We hiked for a long time. She even showed us a mountain called mount Yumnuska.
After we walked up a big dirt road to a mind. When we got up the road she said to get a rock as big as your hand. Then she let us throw it into a little pond. Then we went into long wavy grass. Swissssshhhhhy, Swassssshhhhhy, Swissssshhhhhy, Swassssshhhhhy! When we got out we did an experiment with clay.
After we walked a bit, we found a little stoned shed that was used for mine equipment. Then we walked on a hilly path that had trees sticky out from every direction. Then we passed the other group. After we had some yummy lunch we played some games. We even threw rocks on the ice. My dad use to camp there and they even went around Mount Yumnuska. Then we went down a path that had no leaves on the trees.
After a while, we ended at the same spot were I found the bird nest. We saw the other group heading for the bus and we raced them and we were first. Then we sat in our seats and headed back to school. The bus ride felt longer then it did before. When we got to school it was time to go home.
Now that was the field trip to Mount Yumnuska.
The End!
A Long Bike Ride To Calgary Christian School
One day me, my Dad and my sister went for a bike ride to my school. It took 52 KM there and back! It felt like it was as long as the whole city! It took the whole day.
First we started at our house, then we went to Fish Creek Park where I threw up. I was kind of scared at Fish Creek Park because we went gravel. I slipped a couple of times but I didn’t fall or hurt myself.
We needed to go up hills and down. When we got to the top of a hill, I felt sick holding Dad’s bike.
We went to the washroom’s, and then the biking continued. After we got to the top of a hill, we stopped at a bench to have a drink of water. After we had a drink, then we started again. I felt really excited to get to my school.
The next park was Glenmore Park, it felt like the longest park. When we got out of the park, we rode on the road to my school. Then we went over a big bridge. When we got across, I tripped on a bump and fell down and hurt myself. So we went to 7-Eleven to buy band aids.
Then we finally reached my school.
We had lunch and played on the playground at the school. After we started to head home.
When we got home I was sweating like a big fat pig. I had a nice clean shower and I smelt a lot better.
Then it was dinner time, it was a delicious. Then I went to bed. I fell asleep really fast.
The End…
Caleb Reads 1 Corinthians 15: 51-57
A couple of weeks ago Caleb was asked to read a verse at church as part of the service. There are some pretty big words in the verse, so he spent quite a few nights practising reading the verse, 1 Corinthians 15: 51-57.
We broke with our usual habit of sitting near the back of church so that he could head up in the middle of worship to speak. He did a great job, and you can see it for yourself…
Here is the verse so you can read it for yourself:
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed — in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our church in Calgary is South Calgary Community Church. They have an English service, Russian service and Brazilian / Portuguese service every Sunday and have a kids program that our children love.
My Trip to Forgetmenot Pond
On Fathers Day 2011, we went to Forgetmenot Pond that was in the mountains. It was a great there.
We went around the pond. After a while, we stopped to eat our snack and let Mum feed Elijah.
After me and my sister (Jessica) were done our snack Dad taught us how to skip rocks. It was a lot of fun. The highest I got was 5. I was having a lot of fun.
My sister and I had our classes on because it was sunny outside. Then it was time to go home.
I was tired and fell asleep on the way home.
Goodnight!
Adventures of My Day
Today I went to school. First I got up and got dressed. I went upstairs to have breaky (means breakfast). I had muesli for breaky. After,I got ready to go to school. I said goodbye to Mum and baby Elijah. Then I packed my backpack and put my shoes on. I got in the van and drove of to school. I liked the car ride there because we listened to a show called Kids Corner.
When I got to school I learned some interesting stuff. I liked soccer the most cause I like to play soccer. Then it was time to go home. When I got home I had tea (mean’s dinner).
After tea I had to have a cecostomy tube flush, but you don’t need to know that yet.
After my flush I went to bed. Good Night!
