All About My Cecostomy Surgery!

On the first day at the hospital I went to my room and got ready for Tuesday, the surgery day. I had an IV put in my arm for the whole five day’s.

Before the IV I watched a movie called Megamind at the hospital movie theatre.  Then I went to bed still with the IV on my hand.

Some doctors and nurses came in my room in the middle of the night when I was sleeping to see how I was doing.

The next morning I got ready for the surgery. I had a really good breakfast in the morning. I rested and watched some TV in the whole morning.

Then it was lunch time.  It was an awesome lunch. I did some activities in the afternoon.

After it was time for surgery.  I was very scared at first but when it happened I was not scared.

After I had a long sleep.  Then I watched some TV with Mum.

Then I was hungry, so I had some biscuits when I played cards with Grandma until Dad came to take Mum home.

Then it was tea for me.  It was delicious.

Then I watched hockey.  Toronto was playing the Hurricanes.  Toronto won!  The score was 5 to 3.

Then Dad was back.  I was asleep by then.  The next morning it was time for the nurses to do the button.

After it was time to go home.  They took out the IV, then I jumped out of bed.  Then we got ready to go home.

When I got home I ran to my room and jumped on my bed.  I was happy I got to go home.

Now that was the story about my Cecostomy Surgery.

The End!

Last Soccer Game

We played a soccer game 3 weeks and we lost by 19 points. The score was 1 – 20 to the other team. We only had 9 players as some people were on holidays. I scored the only goal and this is how it happened.

I was dribbling the ball up the pitch but had accidently knocked the ball a bit too far from myself. The guy in front of me had it and he was the last player in defence for the other team. He then tried to pass the ball to a team mate but it wasn’t a good pass and I intercepted thanks to the pressure I had put on the player to make a mistake. I was then one on one with the goalie on a very tight angle. About 4 metres from the goal line when I shot. The goalie was advancing towards me so I shot with my left foot hoping for the best. As you may know, I don’t kick with my left leg. I shot and it went over the goalie’s head, bounces off the inside of the far post and bounced in. I would have to say that has to be one of my best goal of the year so far.

Soccer Season Stats 2015

Soccer season 2015

Here are some of the stats from each soccer game that we played last year…

Last year I scored 13 goals and assisted in 17 other goals. Over the whole season our soccer team scored 37 goals, and we had 73 goals scored against us. I was involved 30 of our goals, which would be 81% of them.

On the league’s ladder, we came 7th out of 9 teams. That result was way better than the previous year when we came last. We won 4 games and drew 1 game, when the year before we only drew one game.

Here are the results from each game, including the number of players. A full team should be 11-players, and we only had one game with that many players there …

  • Game 1: 0-6, 10 players
  • Game 2: 3-6, 10 players, 2 goals, 1 assist
  • Game 3: 1-1, 10 players
  • Game 4: 5-1, 12 players, 4 assists
  • Game 5: 4-2, 6 players, 3 goals, 1 assist
  • Game 6: 1-5, 10 players
  • Game 7: 1-12, 10 players, 1 assist
  • Game 8: 2-14, 7 players, 1 goal, 1 assist
  • Game 9: 3-4, 9 players, 2 goals, 1 assist
  • Game 10: 4-10, 10 players, 4 assists
  • Game 11: 1-9, 9 players, 1 assist
  • Game 12: 8-1, 8 players, 5 goals, 2 assists
  • Game 13: 4-2, 8 players, 3 assists

I’m looking forward to this years soccer season as we will hopefully have more players on the team then the past few years.

My Thoughts Of Our Journey to Australia – Written Early 2012

One day after school my mum waned us to sit at the table. at the table my mum said,” You now how we’ve wanted to go to Australia? Well, God has directed us to go to Australia to live!

“Hurray!” we all shouted. It was remarkable. My wish had finally come true.

It was then time for me to go to bed. That night I dreamed of us hoping on a plane to Australia.

In the morning we had to get ready to go to Australia. Mum had to make the house look nice and dad had to fix some things around the house. A guy named Joe (of course), bought the house the exact same day.

We then had to head to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to stay until we left.Air Canada

Finally, it was time to head to Australia. We kissed and hugged everyone goodbye. We then boarded the plane to Dallas, the first stop to Australia. The engine went on and we were off. Whoosh went the sound of the plane soaring through the sky. I looked through my window in the plane and I couldn’t see anything. After a couple of seconds, I saw the sky shining like a glistening jewel. After a couple of hours, we landed in Dallas.

When we got of the first plane we had to board another plane which was going to be the longeQantas A380 Sydneyst plane ride ever! The plane was going to Sydney, Australia.

“Goodbye Canada!” we all said.

After a day and a night we arrived in Sydney. We were so excited to be back in Australia. We boarded the last plane quickly so we could get to Adelaide fast. The plane finally took off. We were finally heading home. When we got there, we found Gran and Pop. We were so excited!

In a couple of weeks our luggage finally came. I had my Lego back and I had to build everything again. It took me 2 months to make it again.

After I built my Lego, Pop and I went fishing. I caught a big fish and on the fish was written, “The End!”

Something Happened at School that Day

“Screech, screech!”

The rusty, old school bell sounded. My next lesson was science, my favourite class. It was the year 2019 and we were at a special boarding school in Bern, Switzerland, called St. Paul’s Exclusive Science Academy.

Today we were trying to make a real monster out of a toy monster that would obey our orders for our final school project. I grabbed the toy monster to look at it more closely to get an idea of what to use to make it come alive.

All of a sudden a little child ran through the science lab, straight into me! I fell loudly to the floor with the monster in my hands. As I fell, a little piece of the toy monster broke off, and went under the table. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the piece until later in the day.

Our challenge was to figure out how to make our one inch tall toy monster come alive, and to make it grow to 2 feet tall. The toy monster was green and alien-like, with big, sharp-like teeth. We had to make some type of quick growing liquid for it to get bigger in less than an hour. “Lets go grab some fertilizer from the garden shed” someone suggested. I volunteered to go and get it.

When I came back, the others were discussing what else to put in the bowl with the fertilizer. They decided to add some water to the mixture. When we added the water to it, it became all brown and mushy. Little did we know that some of the mixture fell on top of the broken piece of monster on the floor.

It was then recess, so we kept everything out because we were going to head back to the science lab after recess. For recess, I played a soccer game with some friends, and when recess was done, I sprinted back to the lab to continue on what we were doing before. I was terrified when I entered.

The little piece of monster that fell off earlier was alive! Apparently someone at recess had yelled out, “Live, live, live!” And there it was in the lab, growing in height and growing back it’s body. The monster’s head slowly headed to the roof and when the monster’s head touched it, the monster smashed right through. It then grabbed the science lab off the ground and threw it away like it weighed nothing, with me watching underneath.

Scary Plastic Monster!

The monster suddenly turned around, and with me terrified, ran in the opposite direction. In and out of buildings I went, trying to dodge the monster. But he kept coming, smashing buildings as he went.

When I lost him in a pile of bushes, I started to think of a plan. I started to run to the garden shed when the monster wasn’t looking. When I got there, I found some weed-killer and some water and threw them into a bucket and started to mix. I stopped mixing when it was ready, and ran out into the open so that the monster could see me.

The monster saw me and started to chase me. I started to run and hoped that the monster would land on the bucket. The monster did land on it and crushed it to smithereens. It let out an ear-piercing scream and started to shrink before me. It grew so small that I couldn’t see it until I walked forward and looked at the ground. The monster was the size of an ant! I then jumped up high and smashed the monster to bits. The monster was dead!

I was a hero! I rescued everyone from the dreaded monster! Of course everyone knew how the monster had come to life, and were all very happy that the monster was dead.

It was the end of the year and when I got my report card, it said that I got an “A plus” in science, because I rescued the school from the monster that was created in science class. My parents were very proud of me and they said, that I could be a professor one day. And that’s exactly what I did.

The Lost Generation – Letter to The Protector of Aborigines

Below is a letter that we wrote as part of a school project as we learned about the Lost Generation of Australian Aborigines …

The Protector of Aborigines
The Aboriginal Protection Board
George Street,‭ ‬Sydney,‭ ‬NSW

Dear Sir,

When I was ‬8‭ ‬years old,‭ ‬I was taken to a mission.‭ ‬I obviously didn’t won’t to go because I’ve heard what the can do to you.‭ ‬I went only because they said that if I didn’t go that they’d kill my family and myself.

Aboriginal Missions School

At the mission I was‭ “‬looked‭” ‬after by‭ ‬2‭ ‬maids.‭ ‬They then changed my name that used to be Tubby but changed to Caleb.‭ ‬The maids also worked me very hard.‭ ‬I had to make meals,‭ ‬polish the floor,‭ ‬feed the animals,‭ ‬and clean the house.‭ ‬It was so hard and tiring.

I was then moved to another place to be put to work.‭ ‬This time it was a farm.‭ ‬Now I had to pull weeds and harvest crops instead of doing house jobs.‭ ‬The farmer only sat back and relaxed while watching me work.‭ ‬If I wasn’t doing a good enough job though,‭ ‬he would come and whip me‭ ‬15‭ ‬times.‭ ‬I also had really bad food and had to sleep on the hard cold floor in the barn.‭ ‬I now just wanted to go back to the way it used to be.‭ ‬Relaxed,‭ ‬composed,‭ ‬and effortless sort of life.‭ ‬Not the way that I was living right now.

The farmer then took me to this school type thing and said that I needed to learn English and the culture,‭ ‬Christianity.‭ ‬They taught me horribly though.‭ ‬Whenever I got a question or word wrong,‭ ‬they would whip me at least‭ ‬5‭ ‬times.‭ ‬It was atrocious! ‬I couldn’t wait until I got home.‭ ‬Unfortunately I don’t now when that would be.

10‎ ‏years later I was free‭! ‬Free‭! ‬Free‭! ‬It was a glorious day to be free and get to see my family again.

I hope you can just stop taking kids away from their families so they can live a dandy and contented life.‭ ‬If there still is any children still in the missions,‭ ‬please let them be free.‭ ‬Please don’t do any thing like this again.

From Tubby‭ (‬Caleb‭)

Soccer Season 2014

Soccer Pose with the BallThis year in soccer we unfortunately didn’t win any games, but we did draw a game. A lot of our best players from last year moved up to the older team, which was one reason why we didn’t win any of our games. There were also not even enough players to make up a full team of 11. The closest we came to having a full team was 10, and we never had any substitute players, which made each game very tiring.

I was really happy this season that I scored 7 goals and got 5 assists. My favourite goal was a chip from outside the penalty box that I had to kick it over 7 people to get in the net. When I kicked it, the ball went over the players heads, over the goalies head, and landed in the back of the net. That was the same game that I got 2 more goals to score my first ever hat-trick.

High Flying Soccer Player

Here are the results of the games for our season, along with my own stats for each game:

  • 1 – 12, 1 goal, 10 players
  • 1 – 2, 1 assist, 10 players
  • 0 – 8, 9 players
  • 0 – 4, 9 players
  • 0 – 8,10 players
  • 0 – 6, 10 players
  • 1 – 4, 1 assist, 9 players
  • 3 – 4, 2 assists, 10 players
  • 1 – 6, 1 assist, 8 players
  • 3 – 4, 3 goals, 7 players
  • 1 – 1, 9 players
  • 1 – 5, 1 goal, 10 players
  • 2 – 4, 2 goals, 10 players

Running and Kicking the Soccer BallWhat really impressed me was that a lot of our players improved a lot during the season. They improved in tackling, kicking, dribbling, passing, and scoring. At the beginning of the season they weren’t as good, but by the end of the season they had improved a lot. If we played a few more games and had some more training, we might have won a game later in the season.

I am looking forward to next year and really hope that we will have enough for a team, since 4 of our players are moving up.

Caleb Scores His Last Goal of the Season

Time Machine 2

The Time MachineThis time we’re going back to the dinosaurs. I am thinking about going to the Cretaceous period , but given the experimental stage of our time machine, we will have to wait and see when we turn up …

So I hopped into time time machine and was of.

When I landed I jumped out. All I could see was trees after trees. It was like the opposite of what we live in right now. Also the atmosphere was very humid. What was really cool, I saw some volcano’s.

Then all of a sudden a Tyrannosaurus Rex started chasing me, distracting me from my thoughts. I ran for my life. I guess I should have signed up for the Olympics. Then out of nowhere a Triceratops jumped out and started to attack the T-Rex. That’s when a Quetzalcoatlus swooped down and picked me up. Before I new it I was 1000 feet of the ground. I was shocked about what just happened.

Running from the DinosaursAfter a while the Quetzalcoatlus put me down near the time machine. Then he flew of.

I raced to the time machine before any other dinosaurs started chasing me. When I got there I dove right in and slammed the door shut. Then I sent it back to the year 2014.

Diving into the Time Machine

When I got back I inspected the time machine for any damage. Then I saw a juvenile Troodon, which looked like an featherless ostrich.

Then I had a great idea. But that’s for next time…

Time Machine 2 - Caleb Hutchison

The Time Machine

I, Caleb, was the first person ever to create the first time machine, and to test it too. And this is the story of how it happened.

Caleb's Time MachineOne day I was busy in my workshop when my friend came in. He said, “I’m bored. What are you doing?”.

I answered, “I’m building the first time machine ever!”.

“Cool! When can we board it?”

“Just wait one minute then I’ll be done. I’m finished!”

“Great! Can we go in the future right now?”

“Sure”

So we entered the time machine. I asked what year he wanted to go to and he said the year 2100. So we headed of.

When the time machine stopped spinning around, we climbed outside. It took us 1 hour to get there.

When we stepped out we were in a humongous hole.

I said, “What are we going to do? There’s no one here!”.

“I’ve got an idea. Get the rope and I’ll throw it all the way out of the hole.”

And it worked. When we got out of the hole there were millions of people around. They were all on these sort of hover-boards and in the cars they just to say where they wanted to to and the cars will drive them there. We were so astonished!

Then all of a sudden there was a robot chasing us! We ran for our lives! We ran straight to the time machine, jumped in and set the dial to 2014 just in time.

When the time machine stopped spinning around, we hopped out and said together, “That was so much fun! We aren’t going to tell our parents or anyone about this fabulous invention. We swear!”.

Australian Ice Tabogganing

Australian ice tobogganing is so much fun. You go really fast but its scary too all at the same time. Here is how I did the ice tobogganing.

I was invited too a friends birthday party. We went to a park for the party where there was a big and small hill. We first started with the small hill, then we went on the big hill.

Australian ice tobogganing is when you go on a block of ice with a string going through it. You then go on top of a hill, sit on the block of ice, and then you go down the hill. At first its hard, but when you have done it a few times it’s actually quite easy.

It is so much different to Canadian tobogganing on snow.

So that’s what Australian ice tobogganing is.
