On Fathers Day 2011, we went to Forgetmenot Pond that was in the mountains. It was a great there.
We went around the pond. After a while, we stopped to eat our snack and let Mum feed Elijah.
After me and my sister (Jessica) were done our snack Dad taught us how to skip rocks. It was a lot of fun. The highest I got was 5. I was having a lot of fun.
My sister and I had our classes on because it was sunny outside. Then it was time to go home.
I was tired and fell asleep on the way home.
Goodnight!
It was a really fun day wasn’t it? Yay for having a great Dad to celebrate!! Don’t forget to check your spelling…you wrote “classes” instead of “glasses” (haha!), but I knew what you meant and others will as well. I love how you are enjoying sharing your adventures with everyone.
Love Mum xoxo
Thank you for the very special day at Forgetmenot Pond in the Kananaskis Provincial Park. It was a lot of fun being out there and helping you learn how to skip rocks for the first time…
Hey Caleb:
Skipping rocks is a traditional Hutchison family activity. Wow – you got up to 5 skips? That’s really good. We (your dad, Grandpa, Auntie Jenny, Auntie Shannon and I) spent many hours at the river, lake or reservoir skipping rocks. I remember that your Dad was quite the expert. What a great way to celebrate Father’s Day. Glad you had a good time.
love you lots, Grandma
Hi again Caleb. I don’t think Gran knew that “skipping” rocks was the same thing as “skimming” them. It’s called “skimming” in Australia and I used to do it at the beach with Uncle Todd and Uncle Corey. They could always do it better than me. It sure was a lot of fun to do it in the ocean and skim them as the waves rolled into the shore. We’ll try that when we go to see Gran and Pop. I wonder if you could beat your Uncles?? 🙂 You’ll have to give it a try.
I am pleased the video is now on your blog Caleb. I wasn’t too sure what skipping rocks was, but now I know exactly what it is. Sounds like you all had a fun day.
Love Gran.
Thanks everyone for the note all you guys sent me. I really like the comments.
Love Caleb xoxo
Hi Caleb, I’m enjoying reading your blog! Keep practicing your stone skipping. My record is 24 skips. But it gets pretty hard to tell after about 15.
Wow Matt that’s crazy. I hope I reach that record to.
Bye Matt.
Hey Caleb, I think I might have worked out what I was doing wrong – I don’t think I was scrolling down the page far enough and I didn’t notice the comments section. Oops! I’ve really enjoyed reading all of you blogs so far, you’ve got some really fun and interesting stories haven’t you? You’ve written your blogs really well mate, keep up the good work. I’m already looking forward to hearing all about your next Aussie Rocket adventure 🙂 Lots of love from Uncle Todd xx
Hi Uncle Todd,
I have already written another story. I hope to hear you soon.
